Planning a trip to Disney World from the UK can feel a little overwhelming — there’s so much to think about, and one of the biggest questions I always get asked is: when is actually the best time to go?
The honest answer is… it depends what you’re looking for. Weather, crowds, prices and school holidays all play a part, so let’s break it down in a simple way to help you decide what works best for you and your family.
Weather in Disney World

Disney World is in Florida, so it’s generally warm all year round — but some months are definitely more comfortable than others.
January – March
Mild and comfortable, usually around 15–25°C. This is one of the best times for walking around the parks without feeling exhausted by the heat.
April – June
Warmer, around 25–30°C. It starts to feel more like “proper Florida weather”, but still manageable for most people.
July – September
Very hot and humid, often 30°C+. Afternoon thunderstorms are common and it can feel intense, especially if you’re not used to the heat.
October – December
Cooler again, around 18–28°C. October and November are lovely months weather-wise, and December feels festive with all the Christmas decorations.
If you struggle in the heat, I’d personally avoid peak summer. Walking 20,000+ steps a day in Florida humidity is no joke.
Crowd Levels (This Matters More Than You Think)

Disney is always busy, but some times of year are noticeably better than others.
Quieter periods (generally):
Late January to early March (outside UK half term and avoiding US Spring Break and major events)
Late April to early June (excluding late May around Memorial Day)
September (after US schools go back)
Late August (once most US schools return)
Busiest periods:
UK & US school holidays
US Spring Break (late Feb – April, varies by state)
Easter
Summer (especially July and early–mid August)
Christmas & New Year
Prices – When Is It Cheapest?
Generally speaking, the cheapest times to go to Disney World are:
Late January to March (excluding half term)
Late April to early June
September remembered as one of the cheapest months
The most expensive times are:
Summer holidays
Easter
Christmas & New Year
Flights, hotels and Disney tickets all increase during peak periods, so travelling off-peak can save you a significant amount.
Best Time to Visit Disney World from the UK (My Honest Opinion)

If I had to choose the best overall times, I’d say:
Late April – early June
Great weather, manageable crowds, and better prices than summer.
September
One of the quietest months, cheaper, but very hot.
October
Amazing weather, Halloween events, and slightly calmer than summer.
Late January – February
Cooler weather, lower crowds, and good value (outside half term).
When Should You Avoid?
If you want my honest answer:
July & Early/Mid August: Extreme heat + crowds + high prices.
Christmas & New Year: Magical, but incredibly busy and expensive.
Easter holidays: One of the busiest times of the year.
Not saying don’t go — just go in knowing what to expect.
Is It Worth Going in UK School Holidays?
Yes — but it’s very different.
You’ll need:
Lightning Lanes
Early starts
A realistic plan
It’s still magical, just busier and more expensive.
My Biggest Tip
There is no “perfect” time for everyone. The best time to visit Disney World is when it fits:
Your budget
Your work/school situation
Your heat tolerance
Your crowd tolerance
That’s why I always recommend personalised planning — what works for one family might not suit another at all.
